Welcome to
Rippe Gelbvieh. Between each rolling hill and creek
bottom is a place in South Central, Nebraska (near
Hubbell) where Rippe Gelbvieh calls home.
Our cattle
program is built around moderate framed, functional
females that
work for us. We pride ourselves on selecting for a
balance of traits. In addition, we collect individual
weights on all of our cows every fall to calculate
efficiency. We ultrasound scan or receive actual carcass
data from approximately 90% of the calves born each
year. We work hard to make genetics that work for the
commercial industry. We have been Artificial inseminating
for 14 years and embryo transfer for 2. We expect to
have over 150 AI and ET calves born in through our
program in 08. We are strong believers in low maintenance,
easy fleshing females that maximize your revenue and
it shows in our cattle line-up. Our registered herd
is managed as similar to commercial operations as possible.
Our calves do not regularly receive creep feed or supplements – what
you see is what you get at Rippe Gelbvieh. We sort
through and cull our herd and bulls frequently and
as a result the majority of our sales are to repeat
customers. |
